October in Fort Collins: Fall Might Be Our Favorite Season

Our Fall Decor Welcomes You Home

If you’ve never experienced October in Fort Collins, this might be the year to fix that.

The weather is typically beautiful, the trees around Old Town are changing, the foothills are right outside town, and October’s calendar is packed with events that are very Fort Collins: a little quirky, very local and mostly best experienced outside and with Remington Flats close to both Old Town and CSU and we’ve got the perfect location to access it all, with a stay special enough to make the journey worthwhile.

Here are a few worth planning a weekend around.

Tour de Corgi — October 3

Yes, this is exactly what it sounds like.

Hundreds of corgis — many wearing costumes — descend on Civic Center Park before parading through Old Town for the annual Tour de Corgi.

We’re not going to attempt to explain why Fort Collins has an annual costumed corgi parade. Some things are better simply accepted and enjoyed.

CSU Football

Fall also means football at Colorado State University, and the Rams have two home games at Canvas Stadium this October:

October 3: CSU vs. Oregon State
October 24: CSU vs. San Diego State

Remington Flats is close enough to CSU that you can enjoy all the energy surrounding game day without staying in the middle of campus.

Remington Flats Gardens Changing to Fall

FoCo Fall Fest — October 9–11

Downtown Fort Collins celebrates autumn with three days of live music, local makers, food, craft beverages and activities throughout downtown.

It’s free, it’s right in the heart of town, and it’s an excellent excuse to spend a fall weekend wandering Old Town.

Pumpkins on Parade — October 22–25

The Gardens on Spring Creek hosts one of Fort Collins’ favorite October traditions, Pumpkins on Parade.

The Gardens are transformed for four evenings of creatively carved pumpkins, entertainment and Halloween fun.

And if organized events aren’t your thing, October is also simply a spectacular time to be outside.

Take a drive up the Poudre Canyon. Hike around Horsetooth. Grab one of our complimentary cruiser bikes and explore Fort Collins’ miles of bike trails. Or walk into Old Town, find a patio in the afternoon sun and accomplish absolutely nothing.

We strongly support that last itinerary.

Stay Like a Local

Remington Flats is a tiny, locally owned property with just four individually designed studio apartments, tucked into a residential neighborhood near downtown and Colorado State University.

Each studio has numerous amenities, including its own kitchen, private entrance and outdoor space, so it feels much more like having your own little place in Fort Collins than staying in a traditional hotel.

October weekends can be busy around CSU games and fall events, so if a fall trip to Fort Collins has been rattling around in your head, this is a particularly good month to do it.

Come enjoy our favorite season.
