Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Like all other aspects of our life, in 2021 Valentines may be different then in years past but that doesn’t mean it can’t be as fun or even more special!
To make your Valentine’s Day the best ever, we’ve put together a few Fort Collins stay-at-home date ideas, as well as a dreamy staycation at your favorite Fort Collins Boutique Hotel (wink wink).
Create Your Favorite Date at Home
Step 1:
One of our all-time favorite date night activities in Fort Collins is heading to a local cocktail bar and soaking up great drinks and atmosphere. When Covid hit, we quickly realized that this was one of or most missed activities, which is why we created “Faker Happy Hour”. We simply ordered our favorite tapas and drinks “to-go”, sat at our kitchen island, turned on some tunes and wahlah!
Therefore, it’s no surprise that we think the first step in creating your favorite Valentine’s Day starts with wine, really GOOD wine. Stop by Wilburs, one of the area’s finest wine and spirits shops, and pick out a bottle you love or if you’re struggling with choosing from all their options, just ask a knowledgeable staff member to help you! They are also offering curbside pickup if you’d rather shop online and stay in your car. Or, if you don’t trust yourself to find the right bottle for your special night, many Fort Collins restaurants are offering wine to go. Our favorite for this is Jax as they have one of the best wine lists in town.
If wine isn’t your thing Union Bar & Soda Fountain has also made their cocktails available for pickup, including their iconic Frozé! Social is offering some of their iconic cocktails to-go. CopperMuse Distillery has both ready-made cocktails and cocktail packages ready for you to pick up.
Step 2:
No proper Fort Collins date night would be complete without food from your favorite Fort Collins Eatery. All of our favorite restaurants are offering special 3-4 course dinners for two, (some including wine) many of which are offering these specials to go. We’re going to order take-out from White Tree Sushi, pick up a selection of Sake’s to create flights, and order our dessert from Ginger and Baker.
Learn to Paint, Cook or Dance…Virtually!
If you and your sweetheart truly want to make this Valentines season extra special, how about trying out a new hobby from the comfort and safety from your home? Several local businesses have put together online classes that will make staying at home fun! One of the most fun couple things to do is to learn to paint while drinking! Pinot’s Pallet has you covered with virtual classes including supplies! We tried this out years ago and it’s one of our favorite activities to do together and with friends. Are you a novice cook who wants to step up your game? Try an online course from The Cooking Studio! Have you and your partner always wanted to learn to samba or waltz? Try Maya’s Ballroom Dance out of Loveland CO. They offer virtual classes as well as in home classes.

Play Recipe Spin the Bottle
If you and your Hunny are in a dinner rut try a little game we play at our house where we randomly enter ingredients into GOOGLE and see what recipes it produces. We pick the most interesting/different ones and create a three course dinner. Then we go shopping! When mealtime prep starts we “spin the bottle” to see who cooks what. It has us trying new dishes we otherwise would have never thought of making. Super fun!
